CD/DVD Disc & Case Label Specification Guide

This guide is to help you understand each term listed in the product summary (light blue area) on each CD/DVD Disc & Case Label page. Click any term listed below to display the information.

LABEL TYPE

This indicates what the purpose is of the label you are viewing.
CD/DVD Labels: Each sheet contains one or more round shapes that can be printed on. Once complete, they peel off and may be applied to the top (side not recorded) of a disc.
DVD Case Labels: Each sheet contains one or more rectangular spaces that can be printed on. Once complete, they are easily removed with the perforation. Most of the DVD Case labels we carry are the ones that slide behind the clear wrap around 3 sides of the case. Some DVD Case Labels are designed to fit inside the cases. These are held by the inside clips (when available). Most of these fit standard size DVD Cases (14mm thick), but some are available that fit slim and multi sizes.
CD Case Trayliners: Each sheet contains one or more rectangular spaces that can be printed on. Once complete, they are easily removed with the perforation. The trayliner shows through the back of the disc and sides.
CD Case Front Booklets: Each sheet contains one or more rectangular spaces that can be printed on. Once complete, they are easily removed with the perforation. The Front Booklet shows through the front of the case and are held by inside clips (when available).
Complete CD Case: Each sheet has both a trayliner and front booklet.
CD/DVD Hub Labels: Once printed and peeled off, these are designed to fit over the clear area in the center of many discs.

SIZE

This is the size of the label. Different dimensions are shown based on the label type.
CD/DVD Labels & Hub Labels: The diameter is displayed. Sometimes, a second diameter is shown that represents center hole area.
CD Case Trayliners & CD Case Front Booklets: Length and Height are displayed.
DVD Cases Labels: In addition to the length and height, the case width this label is intended to fit.

WORKS WITH

Most of the labels we carry are compatible with various labeling systems and software. This row indicates if the labels will work with a particular brand (such as, Neato, Memorex, Avery, Pressit, Stomper and more)

*IMPORTANT NOTE: It is not a requirement to use a specific system or software. We provide free templates (in doc or pdf format) for most of our labels. Links to these templates are below the light blue "product summary" area.

PRINT SURFACE

This indicates the type of print surface for this label. Most are a matte, but some are glossy. A higher gloss surface is ideal for higher resolution images.

PRINTER

This is the recommended type of printer for this particular label. Typically, they are either inkjet or laser. Sometimes, both will work. If you are using an inkjet printer and the label you are looking just says LASER you can be certain the label will not properly print. Of course, the reverse holds true as well.

LABELS/SHEET

Most sheets contain either one (1-UP) or two (2-UP) labels. However, some can hold many more. For instance, the large sheets (11" x 17") can hold 4 or 6.

LABELS/PACK

This is the total number of labels in a pack.
